I was born in (Xeni Gwet'in) Nemiah Valley in 1958, at home not in a hospital. I lived with my parents until age 5/6 at which time I was taken away to Residential school. I worked as a Community Health Representative for Xeni Gwet'in Indian Band for 12 years and attended Melaspina College and graduated from my CHR Training in 1984. I was hired as a CHR and moved to Stone Indian Band as of July 27, 1998 and I am still enjoying working for the community as a CHR frontline worker. |
